Washington Nationals

The Nationals are the reigning champions and they will be just as good in 2020. Their journey to the World Series was a remarkable run, considering how they began so poorly last year. They got hot in June and and went all the way. Anthony Rendon is the only key player that will be missing from this year’s team. Observers like the Nationals because of their power pitchers. They think the trio of Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg and Patrick Corbin are the best in the game. One issue to consider is Scherzer‘s health. Mad Max dealt with neck and back injuries last year and this may slow the veteran down somewhat. Sean Doolittle had his ups and down as the closer but is expected to perform better in 2020. Tanner Rainey in the setup role and should do well. The Nationals have some fine young talent in Trea Turner and Juan Soto.
