The Rockies made a horrible showing last season when they fell just short of last place. This was shameful for a team that had made two straight playoff appearances in 2017 and 2018. Colorado’s front office failed to bring in new talent during the offseason and it seems the Rockies will field pretty much the same team. Management is looking for the team to stay healthy while showing improvement at every position. Its rotation will have flame-throwing Jon Gray back as the ace of the staff. German Marquez and young Kyle Freeman are capable pitchers who need to turn in better performances. Wade Davis, the closer, needs to bring in the kind of stuff he had when he was one of the elites at his position. Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon will be leading hitters in the lineup. Injury-plagued David Dahl returns to the outfield. Dahl just needs to stay healthy.
