Art must be pretty pumped. I'm cheering for Houston to win but I think Warriors take in 6.

Who do you want them to take if they won the lotto?

If the celtics moved up in the draft, I'd want Hezonja or Cauley-Stein.

We do not match up well against them at all. I am not optimistic, but am super pumped about this comeback.

Did any of you read the fivethirtyeight feature on the finalist for their fan-submitted ideas to fix the lottery? A couple of them were really good. The winning submission was that at the start of the year, the team with the worst record from the year before picks any team in the league (besides themselves) and that teams record at the end of the year becomes theirs for the purposes of the lottery. So you would always try to win to worsen the chances of the team that has you or to better your own chances if you are playing against the team that has you. I thought it was pretty cool

The biggest downside to this, is that it makes trading future picks sort of weird. If you have your pick already traded then your incentive to pick a bad team is gone and it makes those trade pieces weird. I do not think it is a big deal, it would just change the value of them no biggie, but that also means you could not start this until all of the already traded future picks are done (or you have those teams pick themselves with the caveot that they can't trade for that pick). There is also the weirdness of trading for the pick that is your record (which then makes it super valuable). All in all, there are so many wrinkles, I am a big fan.

A time machine so we don't win 2/3 to close the season for the "pride" of players who won't be on the team next year

Russell seems like too perfect of a fit for Sixers if he is there at 3.

Russell is a stud, I will be shocked if he is taken ahead of Towns and Okafor though. I was cheering for Philly to get top 2 just to see them draft another big.

I don't think this scenario would be a bad thing at all.

It wouldn't be at all, if that happened, I'd imagine Boston would try to pry one of those bigs from Philly.
